FIERY AUTO CRASH |
Somedays, you wish a fiery auto crash would happen to some people. I made this for a friend of mine who is frequently given cause to mumble, "Fiery auto crash!" The full glory of a fiery auto crash is captured in pink, complete with a glittery fire consuming the crashing auto. [silkscreen stencil, hand-detailing, glitter] |
I Love Brandon Boyd |
Well, I don't love Brandon Boyd, but I think he's my sister's future husband. Isn't he in one of those "rock and/or roll" groups? I'm not all that up-to-date on Incubus, but this pic looks pretty dreamy I'd say. [one-use stencils, airbrush, hand-detailing, silkscreen stencil] |
Hot Dog! |
I love cute weenie dogs, and there's nothing better than a weenie dog DRESSED LIKE A HOT DOG! This shirt came from a photo I took of my sister's dog Smokey before an Austin Oktoberfest. He actually seemed to enjoy the attention he got while wiggling around in his outfit. [one-use stencils, airbrush, hand-detailing, silkscreen stencil] |
Internet Rage |
A buddy of mine who is much more "hip" and "with it" than I am taught me how one expresses absolute wordless anger or disbelief in an online conversation. Simply type "asdlkfjasdfj" or some variation thereof. I often imagine her sitting at the keyboard with her arms straight out, elbows unbent, pounding away with reckless abandon at the keys. (Again, I need to photo things before giving them away.) [one-use stencil, puffy paint, glitter, bleached shirt] |
The Queen of Quaff |
My mother has written a column for years called "The Queen of Quaff." It's a column about the whats, whens, whys and hows of beer. (She's a graduate of the Siebel Brewing Institute.) So, I designed a logo to go on a shirt for her. (If only I had taken a photo before giving it to her! Oops!) [silkscreen] |
Long Dog |
My father once met a boy in Kazakhstan who knew next to no English, but he warned my dad not to go into a yard because of the "long dog." (Meaning of course that there was a large animal in there.) I always imagined the "long dog" as weenie dog. [silkscreen, one-use airbrush stencils, bleached shirt] |
Paint it! |
I modified this design from a delightfully lame piece of clip art I found. What does it mean? Paint what? The message is so ambiguous and bizarre, I had to make it into a shirt! [one-use stencil, bleached shirt] |
Blam! |
This is a "modded" t-shirt, meaning that at one point it had long sleeves, and now it's a tanktop with cute knotted straps. The starburst is hand-embroidered on, and has a layer of sheer sparkle fabric affixed inside of it. Around the burst are sewn-on beads. The "Blam!" is a freezer-paper stencil. [one-use stencil, embroidery, beads] |
I'm Frank. You're not. |
My family has a dachshund named Frank. Frank has more personality than should be allowed in a dog. He frequently barks insistently, proclaiming his place in the world. It's as if he's saying, "I'm Frank. You're not." That's Frank's universe: the world revolves around Frank, and you need to pay attention to Frank because he's Frank. End of argument. What a good philosophy. [one-use stencil] |
Flying Weenie |
He's leaping for joy 'cause he's the first silkscreen I did that didn't suck. I love the flying weenie; he's a good shirt and makes for a cheap family Christmas present! |
